A RESOLUTION

To honor Lucy Lacey, a 7^th ward resident, on turning 100 years.

WHEREAS, Lucy Lacey, born on September 9, 1914 in Amory, Mississippi, has been a

7^lh ward resident for over 30 years;

WHEREAS, Ms. Lacey has remained a pillar of strength within the community, including her church—Westpoint Missionary Baptist Church at 3562 S. Cottage

Grove—where she joined 44 years ago;

WHEREAS, Ms. Lacey has led a senior citizens group and was a factory worker here in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Lacey has shown dedication, commitment and love to not only her family, but to the 7^th ward community and church;

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this tenth day of September 2014, do hereby applaud Ms. Lucy Lacey for over 30 years of sen-ice and dedication to the community and for turning 100 years old.
