RESOLUTION
 
WHEREAS, God in His Infinite Wisdom has called Midred M. Morgan, most beloved citizen, to her eternal reward on June 12,2014; and
 
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Anthony Beale, Alderman of the 9th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Mildred M. Morgan, known to all as "Millie", was born on March 20, 1930, to delighted parents, Milton and Mary Burley. Millie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beth Eden Baptist Church; and
 
WHEREAS, Millie received her primary education at John D. Shoop Elementary School and her secondary education Morgan Park High School; and
 
WHEREAS, Millie was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Solomon Morgan, on her birthday, March 20,1949. Their union was blessed with four children: Rochelle, Linda, Solomon Randy, and Mark; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her active family life, Millie also enjoyed sewing and traveling the world; \.;~:

WHEREAS, In this time of grief, Millie's family also celebrates her life and cherishes her mem&r
Millie leaves behind a close family and community who will miss her dearly: sister Judy, brother'" Adolph; children Rochelle, Linda (Eric), Solomon Randy (Diane) and Mark; grandchildren Monique, Michael, Kelly, Kimberly (Thomasz), Lori, Jelisa, Tasia, and Tiffany; her nine great-grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends; and
 
WHEREAS, Millie touched the lives of all who knew her through her generosity, unconditional love and her spirit. She will be deeply missed but the memory of her character and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this tenth day of September, 2014 A.D., do hereby honor the life and memory of Mildred M. "Millie" Morgan and extend to her family and many friends our sincere condolences.
