We are filing with your office for introduction at the October 8, 2014, City Council meeting as a transmittal to the Mayor and City Council of Chicago the recommendation of the Commission on Chicago Landmarks that the Polish National Alliance Building be designated as a Chicago Landmark.

Polish National Alliance Building 1514-1520 West Division Street
WHEREAS, pursuant to the procedures set forth in the Municipal Code of Chicago (the "Municipal Code"), Sections 2-120-630 through -690, the Commission on Chicago Landmarks (the "Commission") has determined that the Polish National Alliance Building, located at 1514-1520 W. Division St., Chicago, Illinois (the "Building"), legally described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein, satisfies two (2) criteria for landmark designation as set forth in Sections 2-120-620 (1) and (4) of the Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the Building served as the headquarters for the Polish National Alliance (PNA), the nation's largest Polish-American fraternal organization, from 1938 to 1974. The PNA historically was among Chicago's largest and most influential Polish-American organi...
