Title: Congratulations extended to William "Pete" Wilson on 90th birthday

WHEREAS, William Wilson's family, many friends and admirers will gather November 29, 2014 for a surprise party to pay tribute to this beloved and respected man, on the occasion of his 9011' birthday; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone birthday by Alderman Matthew J. O'Shea; and
 
WHEREAS, William Wilson was born December 2, 1924 in West Helena, Arkansas to parents Edith and James; and,
 
WHEREAS, William, affectionately known to all as Pete, graduated from DuSable High School in 1943:and
 
WHEREAS, Pete is a World War II Army veteran, honorably discharged in 1945. After several years working for Wilson Laboratories, Pete opened Pete's Place Lounge and founded Ability Mirror Company; and,
 
WHEREAS, Pete was the thoughtful and considerate father to four children: Vernita, Pete Jr., Patrick and Garick; and
 
WHEREAS, Pete is the loving grandfather of 6 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren; and
 
WHEREAS, Pete is an avid golfer and lover of jazz; and
 
WHEREAS, Pete is an extremely loving father who always makes himself available to his family. His unconditional love is a constant presence in the Wilson home; and
 
WHEREAS, William "Pete" Wilson will be long remembered for the profound influence he has had on so many lives. His hard work and dedication have earned him the respect and admiration of all who know him; now, therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, assembled this 19th day of November, the year two thousand fourteen, do hereby express our heartiest congratulations to William "Pete" Wilson in celebration of his 90th birthday, and extend to this fine citizen our very best and most sincere wishes for continued happiness and prosperity; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to William "Pete" Wilson.
