Resolution

WHEREAS, Richard Dowling joined the police force on May 6,1985, and retired from the Chicago Police Department on July 16, 2014, following twenty-nine years of dedicated public service; and

WHEREAS, the Chicago City Council has been informed of this special event by the Honorable Jo Ann Thompson, Alderman ofthe 16^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Officer Richard Dowling, Star #972, gave twenty-nine years in service to the public of the city of Chicago, through which he was able to contribute mightily to the health and vibrance of our city; and

WHEREAS, the leaders of this great City of Chicago are cognizant ofthe great debt owed our public servants; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered this tenth day of December 2014, do hereby express our gratitude and heartiest congratulations to Officer Richard Dowling as he retires from twenty-nine years of outstanding service to the people of this great city and we extend our very best wishes for his continued success and fulfillment; and
