Title: Congratulations extended to Police Officer Millaun M. Brown on retirement

WHEREAS, Millaun M. Brown, star number 15672, an outstanding public servant and member of his community, retires as an officer ofthe Chicago Police Department after twenty-nine years of dedicated service to the people of this city; and
 
WHEREAS, Millaun served with distinction and dedication in the 006th District. During his career Officer Brown was awarded forty one Honorable Mentions, seven Complimentary Letters, three Department Commendations, two Attendance Recognition Awards, one Life Saving Award, one Crime Reduction Ribbon (2004), one Presidential Election Deployment Award (2008), one Nato Summit Award, and one Democratic National Convention Award; and
 
WHEREAS, The police have the very essential job of ensuring the safety and order of their community. This sworn officer has an important role in protecting lives and property, maintaining order and enforcing all laws accurately; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Lona Lane, Alderman ofthe 18th Ward, has apprised this august body of Millaun Brown's significant milestone; now, therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here in assembly this tenth day of December, 2014 A.D., do hereby salute Millaun M. Brown for his many years of dedicated service to the safety of this city and extend our very best wishes for health, happiness, and success in all future endeavors.
