MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR WILLIAM POWER



WHEREAS, God, in His infinite wisdom and judgment, has suddenly called to his eternal reward William "Bill" Power, a hard worker, husband, loving father and friend to all; and

WHEREAS, A native of this city, William "Bill" Power started life on April 5,1955 as the son of the late Honorable Joseph A. & Mary Power.; and

WHEREAS, William "Bill" Power attended St. Gabriel grammar school, St. Leo High School, and continued his education at the University of Illinois in Champaign and lastly attended the University of DePaul Law school where he went on to pass the bar in October of 1981; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the years, William "Bill" Power held multiple jobs, including his journey of law as a State's Attorney in the Family Court division and continued his profession in the private sector practicing law; and

WHEREAS, William "Bill" Power was an avid Chicago sports fan, he held season tickets for the Chicago Bears since 1986 and was a board member of the Illinois Sports Facility, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Flags Club; and

WHEREAS, William "Bill" Power suffered a major heart attack and days later a massive stroke which left him unable to work due to paralysis and a lack of communication but he understood everything you were talking to him about. He did a lot of soul searching during this crucial time and felt that you have to let life go on no matter what hurdles are thrown your way; and

WHEREAS, William "Bill" Power diligently fought in those 14 years, in the words of his wife Judy, "I would not have traded those years for anything. He was able to bond with his children during this time like no other and made many memories that will never be forgotten by those that were with him until the end".
