BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:


SECTION 1: On behalf of the City of Chicago as Landlord, the Commissioner of the Department of Fleet and Facility Management is authorized to execute a Lease with The Rebuild Foundation NFP as the tenant for use of 15 parcels of vacant land located at 6929-67 South Kenwood to be used as community gardens and gathering space, such Lease to be approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development, and approved as to form and legality by the Corporation Counsel in substantially the following form:
LEASE

THIS LEASE is made and entered into this day of ,2015 (the
"Commencement Date"), by and between, the CITY OF CHICAGO, an Illinois municipal corporation and home rule unit of local government (the "Landlord" or "City"), and THE REBUILD FOUNDATION NFP, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation (the "Tenant") (both parties, collectively, the "Parties").

RECITALS.

WHEREAS, Landlord is the owner of the property commonly known as 6929-67 South Kenwood Avenue, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, which is comprised of 15 contiguous parcels of vacant land and has no present municipal use; and

WHEREAS, Tenant would like to promote community improvement, participation, and involvement in the area surrounding the property by creating an outdoor sculpture garden and gathering place; and

WHEREAS, Tenant is working with the City's Department of Planning and Development for the possible acquisition of such property; and
