RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Granger Cook, Jr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 88; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Lake Forest, Granger Cook, Jr., was a widely admired member of the legal community and the loving husband for 63 years of Joan; and
WHEREAS, Granger Cook, Jr., was the much-adored father of Granger III, Graham, Bryan, Joanne and Suzanne, the grandfather of fifteen and the great-grandfather of seven to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Granger Cook, Jr., was the dear brother of Kenneth; and
WHEREAS, Raised in Wilmette, Granger Cook, Jr., graduated from Northwestern University and earned his law degree from the University of Michigan; and
WHEREAS, Granger Cook, Jr., served his country in the United States Army during World War II and went on to become a prominent patent attorney and the founder of the Cook Alex law firm; and
WHEREAS, Granger Cook, Jr., was a Past Chairman of the Lake Forest Plan Commission and served on the board of the Better Government Association; and
WHEREAS, Granger Cook, Jr., was also a longtime board member of the Lake Forest Symphony where played an influential role in establishing an endowment; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Granger Cook, Jr., serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Granger Cook, Jr., to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Granger Cook, Jr., was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Granger Cook, Jr., imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
