MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Geraldine E. Tuleo, nee Schmalbach, on May 6, 2015 at the age of seventy-four; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

WHEREAS, a lifelong Chicago resident, born on February 13, 1941, was the beloved wife of Michael; loving mother of Christine Tuleo-Gleason, Catherine (John) Tomasetti, Steven (Colleen), Paul (Allison Larson) and the late Michael T.; cherished grandmother of John, Katlyn and Michael J. Tomasetti; Rachel and Molly Gleason and Michael, Matthew and Megan Tuleo; dearest sister of John (Vivian) Schmalbach and sister-n-law of James (Liz) Tuleo; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Geraldine leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and
love; and

WHEREAS, Geri found great joy during her ten years as an usher for the Chicago Cubs. She was a world traveler, an excellent bridge player and she really enjoyed playing bingo. All holidays were hosted by her because she was such an outstanding and excellent cook. Her home was never lacking for goods, as she kept a full storage of items; and

WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, Geraldine touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twentieth day of May 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Geraldine E. Tuleo and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Geraldine E. Tuleo as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
