RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Donald H. Moss has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 85; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Springfield, Donald H. Moss was the loving husband of Naydene; and

WHEREAS, Donald H. Moss was the much-adored father of Susan, Kate, Jennifer, Mallory and Molly, the stepfather of Kent, Kimberly and Kraig, and the grandfather of four to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Donald H. Moss worked for a number of human service organizations, including the Chicago Urban League, Jewish Vocational Services and United Cerebral Palsy; and

WHEREAS, In 1962 Donald H. Moss joined ARC Illinois and served as its Executive Director for 27 years; and

WHEREAS, In 1990 Donald H. Moss established Don Moss 86 Associates, a statewide government relations and consulting firm in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Donald H. Moss was recognized by the President's Committee on Mental Retardation, the Illinois Senate and House of Representatives, the Illinois Attorney General and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for his service to people with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Donald H. Moss serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Donald H. Moss to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Donald H. Moss was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Donald H. Moss imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twentieth day of May, 2015, do ...
