RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Judy and Ray McCaskey will celebrate the joyful occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, June 13, 2015, surrounded by family members and friends; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Judy and Ray McCaskey are widely admired for their many exemplary civic and philanthropic contributions to the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Both Judy and Ray McCaskey are graduates of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, where they were college sweethearts; and
WHEREAS, Ray McCaskey is the retired Chief Executive Officer of Health Care Service Corporation, the parent of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, Judy McCaskey served for forty years as an educator in the Chicago area; and
WHEREAS, For fifty years the union of Judy and Ray McCaskey has exemplified the highest ideals of married life, and the journey has been richly blessed by much love and happiness; and
WHEREAS, Judy and Ray McCaskey will celebrate this milestone with their loved ones at the Fortnightly of Chicago, 120 East Bellevue, Chicago; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twentieth day of May, 2015, do hereby congratulate Judy and Ray McCaskey on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary and do hereby express our warmest wishes for their continued good health, happiness and prosperity; and
