TRIBUTE TO RONDY DWIGHT CARROLL


WHEREAS, In His Infinite Wisdom, Almighty God has granted eternal peace to Rondy Dwight Carroll, an outstanding citizen and member of his community; and


WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Carrie M. Austin, Alderman ofthe 34th Ward and Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Government Operations; and

WHEREAS, Rondy Dwight Carroll was bom July 1,1973 to Angelete (Ross) Carroll and Dwight Eugene Carroll; and


WHEREAS, Rondy accepted Christ from an early age and graduated from Dunne Elementary School on the far south side of Chicago and Percy L. Julian High School, where he was the captain of the swim team; and

WHEREAS, Rondy went on to further his education at Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Alabama, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. He then returned to Chicago and worked as a train conductor at the Chicago Transit Authority; and

WHEREAS, Since childhood, Rondy always wanted to be a police officer. Rondy realized his dream of becoming a police officer when he passed the City of Chicago police exam. Rondy was close to approaching his eighteen year with the police department when he made his transition; and

WHEREAS, Rondy loved music, fast cars, action movies, socializing with his family and friends and hosting barbeques and parties. He was fond of making people laugh and bringing joy to others. In addition, he was a devoted member of his family and mentor in his community; and beloved by his colleagues at the 3rd District Police Station; and


WHEREAS, He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his sense of humor, kind and generous spirit, and service to others will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore


BE IT RESOLVED, That we the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered together this 20th Day of May, 2015, do hereby express our sincerest sorrow upon learning of the passing of Rondy Dwight Canoll and extend our deepest condo...
