ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. For purposes of this ordinance, the term "Loop Link Project" shall mean a bus rapid transit project currently being undertaken in the greater Loop area of downtown Chicago. The project is defined by red-colored dedicated bus lanes on Madison, Washington, Clinton and Canal Streets, new bus stations on Madison and Washington Streets, protected bike lanes on Washington, Randolph and Clinton Streets, and traffic signal improvements at intersections along the aforementioned streets. Various pavement marking and signage changes are also necessary along the aforementioned streets.
SECTION 2. In furtherance of the Loop Link Project, the Commissioner of Transportation is authorized to cause the removal and replacement of the signage shown on Exhibit A attached hereto.
SECTION 3. For a period of 90 days following completion of the Loop Link Project, the Commissioner of Transportation is authorized to further remove, install and adjust traffic control devices and associated signage in the following areas as necessary to effectuate the purposes of the Loop Link Project:
Madison Street (Jefferson Street to Michigan Avenue)
Washington Street (Jefferson Street to Michigan Avenue)
Randolph Street (Clinton Street to Michigan Avenue)
Clinton Street (Van Buren Street to Randolph Street)
Canal Street (Van Buren Street to Randolph Street)
Clark Street (Monroe Street to Lake Street)
Franklin Street (Monroe Street to Randolph Street)
Wells Street (Monroe Street to Randolph Street)
