WHEREAS, Kenneth L. Hunter, graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1975, University of Chicago with a Masters of Arts in 1984, a Certificate of Advanced Studies from the University of Chicago in 1989 and began his PhD. Studies in 1994 until the present, and

Whereas, Ken Hunter served as Acting Principal at Transfiguration School in Wauconda from 1987-1988, was Curriculum Director for Notre Dame High School in Niles from 1988-1995, was Assistant Principal at Amundsen High School from 1995-1998, became an Administrator for the CPS Reading Improvement Team from 1998-1999, was a Launch Fellow from 1999-2000, served as Administrator in Residence for the Illinois State Board of Education in 2000, became the Assistant Director for the Chicago Public Schools Re-Engineering Program from 2000-2003, and

Whereas, in 2003 Kenneth L Hunter was hired for the position of Principal for the Prosser Career Academy in Chicago, he collaboratively developed programs that have:

Designed and implemented International Baccalaureate Career Certificate Program Trebled the number of International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement offerings Increased student PSAE scores in all tested areas
Enhanced professional development opportunities for faculty Revitalized student leadership and student activities
Redesigned service learning program to become a model for CPS Developed theater program, chair program and 'enrichment summer curriculum' Redesigned Guidance and Counseling department as "Student Services" division of High School Recognized twice by Chicago Public Schools Service Learning Initiative as "Principal of the Year"; by Illinois Counselors Association as 'Administrator of the Year'; by Steppenwolf Theater as "Principal of the Year"; by MetLife as "Principal/Ambassador of Learning", and
