RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Active community member and lifelong Chicagoan Joseph Jogmen recently celebrated his 70th birthday; and
WHEREAS, This cause for celebration has been brought to the attention of this esteemed body by the Honorable Alderman Susan Sadlowski Garza of the 10th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born in Roseland, Joseph has lived in the 19th Ward for the last thirty-eight years. He attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, Joseph taught math at Marist High School for ten years, and then became a financial administrator at LaSalle Street financial marketplace, where he worked for twenty-five years; and
WHEREAS, Joseph is the father of two children, Julia and Joseph, both of whom are employed with the Chicago Public Schools. Joseph enjoyed raising the kids in Chicago, coaching the girls' basketball team and assisting with the boys' Cub Scouts. He has been very involved in community projects such as beautifying the neighborhood and helping keep it safe; and
WHEREAS, Joseph's wife of thirty-seven years, Lenore Jogman, recently retired from Chicago Public Schools, and the couple now has more time to enjoy with their children and their dog, Molly, at their summer home in Long Beach, Indiana, where they actively help preserve the Lake Michigan beach front; now, therefore
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twenty-ninth day of July, 2015, do hereby honor and congratulate Joseph Jogmen on his 70th birthday, and thank him for his years of dedication to his community here in the City of Chicago; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy be presented to Joseph Jogmen and his family as a token of our gratitude.
