Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Chicago:
SECTION 1. Permission and authority are hereby given and granted to THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO (File #19), upon the terms and subject to the conditions of this ordinance to maintain and use, as now constructed, Vault(s) under the public right-of-way adjacent to its premises known as 5640 S. Ellis Ave Existing steam line running a distance of approximately seventy-one (71) feet southeasterly under and across South Ellis Avenue approximately two hundred forty-four (244) feet south of the south property line of East 56th Street., to a steam vault approximately two hundred eighty (280) feet south of the south line of East 56th Street. Existing steam line conduit runs north from said steam vault under the sidewalk on the east side of South Ellis Avenue, a distance of approximately twenty-four point five (24.5) feet, thence east four (4) feet onto private property, thence from private under and across East 56th Street at a point one hundred ten (110) feet east of the east line of South Ellis Avenue.
The location of said privilege shall be as shown on prints kept on file with the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection and the Office of the City Clerk.
Said privilege shall be constructed in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the Department of Transportation (Office of Underground Coordination).
This grant of privilege in the public way shall be subject to the provisions of Section 10-28-015 and all other required provisions of the Municipal Code of Chicago.
The grantee shall pay to the City of Chicago as compensation for the privilege #1115365 herein granted the sum of one thousand two hundred ($1,200-00) per annum in advance.
A 25% penalty will be added for payments received after due date.
