Declaration of November 7, 2015 as "Rebecca's Dream Day" in Chicago

 

 

Whereas, More than 20 million Americans live with depression and bipolar disorder; and

Whereas, Rebecca Cutler, a strong advocate for those suffering from mental illness, lost her own battle with bipolar disorder in 2004; and

 

Whereas, The Rebecca's Dream Benefit was established in honor of Rebecca Cutler by her parents and raises funds for those suffering from depression and bipolar disorder; and

 

Whereas, The Rebecca's Dream Legacy of Life Award will be presented in recognition of outstanding activism to eliminate the stigma associated with mood disorders and to educate the public on their diagnosis and treatment; and

 

Whereas, This year will mark the 10th Anniversary ofthe Rebecca's Dream Benefit Fund Raiser; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, The Mayor and members of the city of Chicago City Council, assembled here this 24th day of September, 2015 A.D., declare November 7, 2015 as "Rebecca's Dream Day" throughout Chicago.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Gail and Norm Cutler.
