CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO SISTER ANNIE ON HER RETIREMENT FROM QUEEN OF ALL SAINTS BASILICA PARISH PASTORAL STAFF

WHEREAS, Sister Annie retired from Queen of All Saints Basilica Parish Pastoral Staff after more than thirty years; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this occasion by Alderman Margaret Laurino, 39th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Sister Annie's career began at the Office of Catholic Schools prior to coming to Queen of All Saints, where she helped with the Parish Lenten Mission when Father Clark was pastor. Possessing the deft touch of an artist and remarkable eye for beauty, she began improving the environment of the Basilica; and

WHEREAS, With the Pastoral Staff, she worked closely with the Women's Auxiliary and Elizabeth Ministry, and provided training for the homebound ministers and those who work with bereaved families. She provided wise and sensitive counsel to four pastors and countless parishioners. Graceful and charming in every situation, never rushing from a conversation or cutting a visit short, she could make each person feel special; and

WHEREAS, Sister Annie plans to remain part of the parish, helping where possible, ensuring that the environment in the Basilica and Rectory continue to communicate a sense of beauty and welcome; and

WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City of Chicago are cognizant of the great debt owed to Sister Annie for her involvement in the life of Queen of All Saints Parish for over thirty years; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered here this twenty-first day of October, 2015 do hereby express our gratitude and heartiest congratulations to Sister Annie on her retirement and we extend to this fine citizen our very best wishes for continuing success and fulfillment; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Sister Annie.
