RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Joseph R. Tybor has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 68; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Countryside, Joseph R. Tybor was the Director of Communications for the Illinois Supreme Court and the loving husband of Sandra; and

WHEREAS, Joseph R. Tybor was the much-adored father of Sarah and Adam and the grandfather of three to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Joseph R. Tybor was the dear brother of Dr. Julia, Donna and David; and

WHEREAS, Born in Chicago, Joseph R. Tybor was raised on the South Side and served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971; and

WHEREAS, After completing his military service, Joseph R. Tybor worked as a reporter for the Associated Press in Chicago and earned a law degree from DePaul University; and

WHEREAS, In 1982, Joseph R. Tybor joined the Chicago Tribune as a legal affairs writer and four years later was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for a series he co-wrote entitled Justice in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Joseph R. Tybor later covered sports and the southwest suburbs before leaving the Chicago Tribune in 1998 to join the staff of the Illinois Supreme Court; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Joseph R. Tybor serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Joseph R. Tybor to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Joseph R. Tybor was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Joseph R. Tybor imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
