RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Greer has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 79; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Greer was a former Mayor of Wood Dale and the loving husband of Yvonne; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Greer was the much-adored father of Debbie, Donna and Dana, the grandfather of ten and the great-grandfather of two to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Greer graduated from Northwestern University and earned a master's in business administration degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Greer moved to Wood Dale in 1961 and taught school for six years before founding his own construction firm; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Greer became interested in politics and was elected to the local school board in 1967 and ran successfully for Mayor in 1975; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Greer led the suburb for 20 years and concluded his tenure in 1995; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Greer retired from the construction business in 2001 and moved to a farm in Cass City, Michigan; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Jerry Greer serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Jerry Greer to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Greer was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Jerry Greer imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
