These profound words Jihad so confidently told his mother the day before he passed from
This life. This foundation is named in his honor and with his kind of spirit. He will
never be able to contribute directly to science, but his foundation will. It has been
established to help persons who have a desire and the potential to be scientists or artists.
However, due to unfortunate circumstances, their dream may never become a reality. One
of the major focuses of the foundation will be with those who "fall by the wayside,"
human beings who have been "written off by society." __

JIHAD BASHIR was a caring, loving, and sharing child who not only wanted to be a scientist, but enjoyed writing, drawing, and singing. This youngster opened his heart to help the young as well as the old. Passing from this life at the tender age of 14, not a day would go by that he wasn't assisting someone. When Jihad was 10 years old, he began traveling for four years, with his mother, to and from Mississippi. They were not going for a vacation nor for relaxation, their journeying was to care for his ailing grandmother. Untiring and affectionately each morning he woke up and asked, "Mama, what do you want me to do?"

It is with this kind of spirit THE JIHAD BASHIR SUPPORT FOUNDATION is established. It will seek out families whose aspiration is to do great things, yet, they have been unable to do so. Whatever kind of aid the foundation can give, it will. It may be financial, it may be tutoring, or a child might need encouragement from someone who cares. Some may need help the foundation can't provide, however, it will refer them to other resources. It will work in the realm of a real family.|1010|
The foundation will concentrate on quality, not quantity. It will work within the scope of its capacity to offer the most preeminent service it can. The goal is to help applicants reach their fullest potential. It is not set up for show, but for loving, caring, and sharing with needy persons.
