O R D I N A N C E
WHEREAS, The City of Chicago is a home rule unit of government as defined in Article VII, Section 6 (a) of the Illinois Constitution; and
WHEREAS, As a home rule unit of government, the City of Chicago may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and
WHEREAS, The management of its finances is a matter pertaining to the government and affairs of the City of Chicago; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
This ordinance is organized into twelve Articles, as follows:

Article III Other Taxes
Article IV Commercial Loading Zones
Article V Parking Meters
Article VI Taxicab
Article VII Street Fairs
Article VIII Parking at Airports

ARTICLE I. HOUSE NUMBER AND ALLEY VACATION FEES
SECTION 1. Section 2-102-080 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by deleting the language stricken through and by inserting the language underscored, as follows:
2-102-080 Legal descriptions and addresses, vacations - Vacations of the public way - Easements - Fees.
(a) Legal Descriptions and Addresses. Every Any person, other than officials and employees of the city City acting in their official capacities, who shall obtain the assistance of the from the department of transportation Department of Transportation for legal descriptions or an official house number certificates of certificate assigning an address to real property in the city City shall pay a fee of $5.00 $50.00 for each description or certificate address assigned.
