RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Brice Schlueter has bravely served his country as a Marine Raider with the United States Marine Corps; and
WHEREAS, Staff Sargent Brice Schleuter served on active duty from 2003 to 2016 as a member of the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion participating in combat operations in Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; and
WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Brice Schlueter also is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom; and
WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Schlueter is a recipient of numerous awards, including two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (one with Combat Valor), two Combat Action Ribbons, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Iraq & Afghanistan Campaign Medals, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Army Valorous Medal and the NATO Medal; and
WHEREAS, After retiring from active duty service, Staff Sargeant Brice Schlueter continues to serve our country as a drilling reservist with 4th Reconnaissance Battalion in Joliet; and
WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Brice Schlueter will be honored at a special celebration on the eve of Veteran's Day at Wintrust's Grand Banking Hall, 231 South La Salle Street, Chicago, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Brice Schlueter is exceedingly worthy of our highest admiration and esteem; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this ninth day of November, 2016 do hereby express our sincere appreciation to Staff Sergeant Brice Schlueter for his military service; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Staff Sergeant Brice Schlueter.
