SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE


WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2017 of the City of Chicago (the "City") contains estimates of revenues receivable as grants from agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8 of the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, the heads of various departments and agencies of the City have applied to agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies for grants to the City for various purposes; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Mayor's Office has been awarded private grant funds in the amount of $25,000 from Fund for Cities of Service, Inc. which shall be used for the Cities of Services Grant of AmeriCorps program; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Public Health ("Health") has been awarded additional federal carryover funds in the amount of $20,000 by the United States Department of Health and Human Services ("HHS") which shall be used for the HIV/AIDs Prevention program; and

WHEREAS, the City through Health has been awarded additional federal carryover funds in the amount of $961,000 by HHS which shall be used for the Hospital Preparedness Program Ebola Preparedness and Response program; and

WHEREAS, the City through Health has been awarded private grant funds in the amount of $300,000 from Pfizer Inc. which shall be used for the Opioid Use Prevention and Treatment Program; and

WHEREAS, the City through Health has been awarded private grant funds in the amount of $25,000 from the Jordan Michael Filler Foundation which shall be used for the Opioid Use Prevention and Treatment Program; and

WHEREAS, the City through Health has been awarded private grant funds in the amount of $25,000 from Walgreens Co. which shall be used for the Opioid Use Prevention and Treatment Program; and
