CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO SAINT EDWARD'S EIGHTH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM ON WINNING THE 2017 NORTHWEST CATHOLIC CONFERENCE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

 

 

WHEREAS, Saint Edward's Eighth Grade Boys Basketball Team are the champions of the 2017 Northwest Catholic Conference League; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this triumph by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, The team has won the league and the championship games for the last three years, this year they were undefeated with a record of 42-0. The team played with great enthusiasm throughout the year with a "never-give-up" attitude; and

 

WHEREAS, Their performance and accomplishments have brought joy and pride to their coaches, parents, and St. Edward community. They exemplify our City's cherished values of teamwork, commitment and a drive for excellence; and

 

WHEREAS, Saint Edward School is guided by Sr. Marie Michelle and the Eighth Grade Boys Team is led by Coaches Michael Kelly and Brendan Bresnahan; and

 

WHEREAS, Players on the championship team include: Nick Bergman, Danny Carlson, Rudy Cazenave, Andy Favela, Jackson Gitterle, Sean Greene, Christopher Guerra, Colin Hegener, Frank Lynch, Dominique Macaraya, Ethan Rodriguez, Abraham Ruiz, Christopher Santiago and Aidan Tonkinson; and

 

WHEREAS, The Coaches and players demonstrated the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship that guided them to victory; now, therefore,

 

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-ninth day of March, 2017, do hereby congratulate the Eighth Grade Saint Edward's Boys Basketball Team on their championship season and do hereby wish them all good health, happiness and much success in the years to come.
