ORDINANCE

 

 

WHEREAS, The City of Chicago is a home rule unit of government as defined in Article VII, Section 6(a) ofthe Illinois Constitution; and

WHEREAS, As a home rule unit of government, the City of Chicago may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and

WHEREAS, The management of its finances is a matter pertaining to the government and affairs ofthe City of Chicago; now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Chapter 4-4 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting Section 4-4-340, Public Toilet Facilities, as' underlined as follows:

 

 

4-4-340        Public Toilet Facilities.

Anv licensee that provides public toilet facilities to its customers must allow individuals who have an emergency and need to use the toilet facilities to do so without having to make a purchase. Furthermore, a fee cannot be charged for the use of the toilet facilities under these circumstances.

 

 

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be effective upon passage and publication.
