SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE


WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2017 of the City of Chicago (the "City") contains estimates of revenues receivable as grants from agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8 of the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, the heads of various departments and agencies of the City have applied to agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies for grants to the City for various purposes; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Public Health has been awarded additional federal grant funds in the amount of $10,000 by the United States Department of Health and Human Services which shall be used for the Morbidity and Risk Behavior Surveillance Program; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Family and Support Services ("DFSS") has been awarded additional state grant funds in the amount of $10,000 by the Illinois Department on Aging which shall be used for the Senior Health Insurance Program; and

WHEREAS, the City through DFSS is requesting authorization to contract with the Southwest Side Seniors Services Organization which provides life enrichment activities, day trips, exercise, health promotion and meals to seniors at the City's Garfield Ridge Satellite Senior Center; now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. The sum of $20,000 not previously appropriated, representing new grant awards, is hereby appropriated from Fund 925 - Grant Funds for the year 2017. The Annual Appropriation Ordinance as amended is hereby further amended by striking the words and figures and adding the words and figures indicated in the attached Exhibit A which is hereby made a part hereof.

SECTION 2. The Commissioner of DFSS is hereby authorized to enter into a delegate agency agreement, subject to the approval of the Corporation Counsel and the availability of legally available funds, u...
