ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Section 2-92-750 ofthe Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended inserting the language underscored, as follows:

2-92-750 Department responsibilities.

The head of any executive departmenfor agency of city government who exercises any

contracting power on behalf of the city beyond the scope of the Purchasing Act, including in non-construction contracts such as those for legal services and professional services, shall consult and cooperate with the chief procurement officer in achieving the aspirational M.B.E. goals defined therein, through his or her exercise of the contracting power and shall, to the extent practicable, implement procedures described in this article.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect following passage and publication.
