MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR KEVIN JOHN TIGHE

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the death of Kevin John Tighe on August 14, 2017 at the age of 48; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39lh Ward; and

WHEREAS, Born on September 27, 1968 Kevin was the beloved husband of Jayme for twenty two years; loving father of Cara Ellen and Kate Lauren; Kevin is survived by his father, Austin and stepmother, Suzanne Tighe, mother-in-law, Rebecca Ellen Sellers, sister and brother-in-law, Maureen and Brent Silverman, brother, Austin Tighe, Jr. as well as many cherished nieces and nephews, preceded in death by Kevin's mother, Jeanette Hanly Tighe, nephew, Brendan Austin Silverman, and father-in-law, James Sellers, and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Kevin leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love and

WHEREAS, Kevin was an amazing husband and father. His family was his pride and joy. Kevin was always exploring the many things the city had to offer. Kevin put his family and friends above all else. He was a source of inspiration to them and a cherished presence in their lives; and

WHEREAS, Kevin learned to love the sport of lacrosse during his time in Summit, NJ. He continued to play throughout college, and kept his love of the sport present by becoming a coach. The many lives he impacted through his years as the Queen of All Saints Boys Lacrosse Coach will never be forgotten.

WHEREAS, Kevin touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and vivacious spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this sixth day of September, 2017, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Kevin Jo...
