WHEREAS, Chapter 4-17 of the Municipal Code of Chicago authorizes the establishment of Restricted Residential Zones pursuant to an opt-out process, which requires a petition to trigger an ordinance; and
WHEREAS, The requisite procedural requirements have been met; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Pursuant to Sections 4-17-020 and 4-17-040 of the Municipal Code of Chicago ("Code"), the 1st Precinct of the 23rd Ward, as described herein, is hereby designated as a Restricted Residential Zone within the meaning of Chapter 4-17 of the Code. All new or additional shared housing units and vacation rentals shall be prohibited within the boundaries of such 1st Precinct, with such boundaries beginning at the southeast intersection of South Harlem Avenue and West Archer Avenue, thence east on the south side of West Archer Avenue to the west side of South Neva Avenue, thence south on the west side of South Neva Avenue to the south side of West 56th Street, thence east on the south side of West 56th Street to the alley directly east of South Nordica Avenue, thence south on the alley directly east of South Nordica Avenue to the north side of West 57th Street, thence west on the north side of West 57th Street to the west side of South Nordica Avenue, thence south on the west side of South Nordica Avenue to the south side of West 59th Street, thence east on the south side of West 59th Street to the west side of South Sayre Avenue, thence south on the west side of South Sayre Avenue to the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad, thence east on the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad to South Nashville Avenue (extended), thence south on South Nashville Avenue (extended) to the Belt Railway Company of Chicago railroad tracks, thence southerly on the Belt Railway Company of Chicago railroad tracks to West 60th Street (extended), thence west on West 60th Street (extended) and the north side of West 60th Street to the east side of South Ha...
