RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Austin has gone to her eternal reward at the age of 78; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of the Garfield Ridge neighborhood, Patricia Ann Austin, nee Bodzioch, was the loving wife of the late James; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Austin was the much-adored mother of Kathy, Jimmy, Terry and Larry and the grandmother of Stevie to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Austin graduated from Sienna High School on the West Side and married her husband at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in in 1958; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Austin lived in the same home for 53 years and worked as an administrative assistant for a Cook County Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Doris Day Animal Foundation, Patricia Ann Austin was nature lover who lavished her backyard with birdhouses; and
WHEREAS, In her retirement, Patricia Ann Austin proudly volunteered to work for the Chicago Department of Aviation at the Midway International Airport information counter; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Patricia Ann Austin serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Patricia Ann Austin imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eleventh day of October, 2017, do hereby commemorate Patricia Ann Austin for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
