RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 78; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci was the loving and devoted husband of Barbara; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci was the much-adored father of five children to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci was a former world-class middleweight boxer who went on to become an elected official; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci had the distinction of having the most boxing matches in the history of the Boston Garden; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci was inducted into the National American Sports Hall of Fame in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1977; and
WHEREAS, In 1986 the Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci was elected Auditor and served in that office for 24 years before retiring in 2011, making him the longest-serving Auditor in the State of Massachusetts; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and, dedication of the Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eleventh day of October, 2017, do hereby commemorate the Honorable A. Joseph DeNucci for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
