RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicago and Northwest Indiana supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families throughout the Chicago metropolitan area; and

WHEREAS, Ronald McDonald Houses in the Chicagoland area provide lodging, meals and support to families with children receiving treatment at local hospitals and medical centers; and

WHEREAS, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer parents a place to rest and regroup inside hospitals while remaining near their child; and

WHEREAS, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicago and Northwest Indiana strives to create a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy; and

WHEREAS, In 2016, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicago and Northwest Indiana has provided services to 1,512 children with its Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, awarded financial aid to 63 deserving students to attend college, and its Ronald McDonald Houses and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms have supported 8,000 families; and

WHEREAS, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicago and Northwest Indiana will participate in the Ronald McDonald House Charities Global Day of Change on October 16, 2017, which commemorates the opening of the very first Ronald McDonald House on October 15,1974;and

WHEREAS, the Global Day of Change is an opportunity to remind customers, donors, volunteers, and communities that, by dropping spare change into a Donation Box at a local McDonald's restaurant, they are helping keep families close in their greatest time of need; and
