MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR JAMES J. CICERO

 

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the death of James J. Cicero on September 09, 2017 at the age of 74; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Born on February 23, 1943, James was the devoted husband for 51 years of Judith (nee Wasik) Cicero; loving father of David (Leann Rigoli), James (Maggie Kelly), Catherine (Keith) Brady, Leonard (Madge Lockwood), Maria (Ryan), Bailey, and William (Abigail Roesch); dearest grandfather of Mona, Matt, Kathleen, Julia, Lauren, Danny, Marty, Michael, and Meghan; fond brother of Joseph, Rose Marie (Louis) Bosco, the late Frank (late Bebe Johnson), the late Mary Margaret, and the late Robert (late Donna Chapparo); adored uncle of many nieces and nephews and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. James leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love and

 

WHEREAS, James was a member of Chicago St. Vincent De Paul, St. Edward Church (Chicago, II), Boy Scouts of America, Hospitality Committee, and Holy Name Society, along with St. Joseph Church (Aurora, IL) Knights of Columbus and Respect Life Ministry. Active in both churches as a lector and Eucharistic Minister, and in his community and

 

WHEREAS, James touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and vivacious spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this eleventh day of October, 2017, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. James J. Cicero; and
