RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The community of Lincoln Park is recognized as the area bound by Diversey Parkway to the south, North Avenue to the north, Lake Michigan to the east, and the Chicago River to the west; and,
WHEREAS, during the late 1960's and 1970's, hundreds of Chicago Fire-era buildings were demolished, clearing the way for an new era of revitalized housing and economic prosperity; and,
WHEREAS, the decisions to build anew created much-welcomed interest in the Lincoln Park community, both in terms of economic potential as well as general livability; and,
WHEREAS, The Lincoln Park Builders Club was founded in 1967 as an honorary society of urban pioneers that worked to transform the community through economic investment and real estate development; and,
WHEREAS, Builders, developers, managers and principals of real estate and those involved in the field of real estate comprise have come together in this hallowed institution; and,
WHEREAS, The goal of the Lincoln Park Builders Club is to provide social camaraderie and a venue to discuss and learn about industry issues, trends and opportunities, such as Unobtainium and the Real Estate Forum; and,
WHEREAS, Membership in the Lincoln Park Builders of Chicago is an honor bestowed on those who have repeatedly demonstrated exemplary performance in their field, with superior integrity and the highest of ethical standards; and,
WHEREAS, Lincoln Park Builders Club members vow to fairly compete with each other while also helping the organization and fellow members to further the success of organization and greater community at large; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council, assembled this 8th Day of November, due hereby extend our since and absolute congratulations to the Lincoln Park Builders Club on the occasion of their 50th Anniversary; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to
