RESOLUTION

 

 

 

 

WHEREAS, Robert K. Wilmouth has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 88; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Barrington Hills, Robert K. Wilmouth was a widely admired member of the financial community and the loving husband of the late Ellen, nee Boyle; and

WHEREAS, Robert K. Wilmouth was the much-adored father of Dr. Robert, John, James, Thomas and Anne-Marie and the grandfather of seven to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Robert K. Wilmouth founded the National Futures Association in 1982 where he was President and Chief Executive Officer for more than 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Robert K. Wilmouth previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chicago Board of Trade and in other roles of prominence and responsibility; and

WHEREAS, Robert K. Wilmouth spent 25 years at First National Bank of Chicago where he was responsible for the planning and construction of its 60-story headquarters, now known as Chase Tower; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure, Robert K. Wilmouth also headed First National Bank of Chicago's international banking department and led its commercial banking division; and

WHEREAS, Robert K. Wilmouth served as Chairman of LaSalle National Bank of Chicago for more than 20 years and was a former President of Crocker National Bank in San Francisco; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Robert K. Wilmouth serve as an example to all; and

 

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Robert K. Wilmouth to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Robert K. Wilmouth imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eighth day of November, 2017, do hereby commemorate Robert K. Wilmouth for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert K. Wilmouth.
