RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, The Honorable William T. Bringham has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 92; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Wilmette, the Honorable William T. Bringham was the loving and devoted husband of the late Ruth, nee Jaeger; and

WHEREAS, William T. Bringham was the much-adored father of William Jr. and the grandfather of three to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable William T. Bringham earned a law degree from Vanderbilt University; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable William T: Bringham worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and in banking before serving for 36 years as the Chief Executive Officer of Sigma Chi Fraternity; and

WHEREAS, A longtime civic leader, the Honorable William T. Bringham was a Wilmette Village Board Trustee and a Northfield Township Republican Committeeman; and

WHEREAS, During World War II, the Honorable William T. Bringham served his country in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre of Operations; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable William T. Bringham serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable William T. Bringham to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable William T. Bringham imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eighth day of November, 2017, do hereby commemorate the Honorable William T. Bringham for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Honorable William T. Bringham.
