RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Mrs. Yvonne Camille Landa will retire from the Office of the City Clerk on November 30, 2017, after more than thirty years of dedicated service to the people of Chicago. Mrs. Landa has earned a well-deserved reputation for being a caring and dedicated worker, truly setting an example of what it means to be a civil servant; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this joyous occasion by the Honorable Anna M. Valencia, City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, Yvonne graduated from Tuley High School, currently known as Roberto Clemente High School, which is located in Chicago's West Town community. She later went on to marry the love of her life, Steven Landa, and together the couple settled near Midway Airport where they raised their family an still reside today. Yvonne is the proud mother of Monica and David (Marcella); loving grandmother to Darren, Alexia, Tyrese, Carissa, Elijah and Joshua; and adoring great-grandmother to Triston and Anthony; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Landa began her career with the City of Chicago on March 15, 1983 working for the Police Department and on February 1, 1986 she joined the Office of the City Clerk and quickly became the Supervising Clerk in the Data Services Division. In 2009, Mrs. Landa took on new challenges and responsibilities as a member of the City Clerk's City Council Division where she worked closely with aldermanic and City Council Committee staff on maintaining legislative records for inclusion in the City Council Journal Index; and
WHEREAS, Yvonne has proudly served under many Clerks during her 30 years of service, working in the administrations of Chicago City Clerks Walter Kozubowski, Ernest Wish, James Laski, Miguel Del Valle, Susana A. Mendoza and finally Anna M. Valencia; and
WHEREAS, Yvonne is a dedicated sports fan, following both the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox and.is also an avid collector of professional sports memorabilia and porcelain clown figurines. When she is not following her h...
