ORDINANCE

 

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

 

 

SECTION 1. Chapter 2-20-030 ofthe Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by deleting the language stricken through and by inserting the language underscored, as follows:

 

2-20-030 Police powers of department employees.

SuGh employees of the department of aviation as the commissioner of aviation may designate shall have full police powers, and for that purpose shall be sworn in as special policemen by the commissioner of police, and furnished with suitable badges of authority. They shall have full power to eject from any public airport owned or operated by the city any person who acts in a disorderly manner, or in a manner calculated to injure the property ofthe city within such airport-

 

 

Aviation officers, including individuals currently designated "Aviation Security Officers", employed by the Chicago Department of Aviation shall have full police powers, and for that purpose shall be sworn in as a law enforcement officer or peace officer, as defined by 720 ILCS 5/2-13 and 50 ILCS 705/2, and furnished with suitable badges of authority. They shall have full power to eject from any public airport owned or operated by the city any person who acts in a disorderly manner, or in a manner calculated to injure the property of the city within such airport.

 

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.
