Dear City Clerk Anna Valencia:
Pursuant to a Notice of Hearing regarding Special Service Area 73 (SSA 73) that was held on November 16, 2017, commercial property owners and registered voters in SSA 73 had 60 days after the hearing to file objections with your office. A map from the Application is attached showing the properties within SSA 73.
United Chinatown Organization (UCO) on behalf of the majority of Chinatown Property Owners, Electors and Residents within the designated boundaries of Special Service Area #73 hereby submit the following two (2) sets of affidavits in opposition to the proposed SSA #73.
Two copies, (one original and one copy), containing 162 affidavits with signatures of owners representing Property Identification Numbers (PIN) within the designated boundaries of SSA #73.
Two (2) copies, (one original and one copy), containing 103 affidavits with signatures of "electors" within the designated boundaries of SSA #73
* Please Note: Both sets of affidavits meet and exceed the required statutory 51% to oppose SSA #73

NOTE: This application is for SSAs applying for calendar year 2017. This form is to be submitted only as part of the formal application package submitted to DPD by June 10, 2016. It is not to be submitted as part of the 2017 Feasibility Study.

Special services to be provided:
Recruitment of new businesses to the area; customer attraction efforts; rehabilitation, maintenance and beautification activities; new construction; security; lighting; coordinated promotional and advertising activities; planning for the area; special events; and other technical assistance activities to promote commercial and economic development (which may include, but are not limited to: streetscape improvements, strategic transit enhancements including parking management studies, sustainability initiatives, and enhanced land use oversight and control initiatives). The Special Services shall be in addition to services provided to and by the City of Chicago generally.
Boundaries of the proposed Special Service Area:

Both sides of S. Wentworth Ave. from 24th Place to W. Cullerton Street; both sides of W. Cermak Rd. from the railroad tracks west of S. Clark St. to the railroad tracks just west of S. Stewart St.; the north side of S. Archer Ave. from the railroad tracks just west of S. Stewart St. to S. Princeton Ave.; both sides of S. Archer Ave. from S. Princeton Ave. to S. LaSalle Street (see map below).
