SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2018 of the City of Chicago (the "City") contains estimates of revenues receivable as grants from agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies; and N
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8 of the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, the heads of various departments and agencies of the City have applied to agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies for grants to the City for various purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City through the Office of the Mayor has been awarded private grant funds in the amount of $316,000 by Humanity United which shall be used for the Pathways to Freedom Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Public Health ("Health") has received additional state carryover grant funds in the amount of $28,000 by the Illinois Department of Human Services which shall be used for the' Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through Health has been awarded additional state grant funds in the amount of $221,000 by IDPH which shall be used for the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Planning and Development has been awarded federal pass-through grant funds in the amount of $143,000 by the Regional Transportation Authority which shall be used for the Corridor Study Technical Assistance Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Office of Emergency Management and Communications has been awarded additional federal carryover grant funds in the amount of $1,036,000 by Illinois Emergency Management Agency which shall be used for the Urban Areas Security Initiative; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. The sum of $1,716,000 not previously appropriated, representing new grant awards, and $28,000 representing carryover grant funds are hereby appropriated from Fund 925 - Grant Funds for the year 2018....
