RESOLUTION FROM THE CITY COUNCIL OF CHICAGO HONORING CRAIG MILLER

WHEREAS, Craig A. Miller has announced his retirement as the Chief Executive Officer of the Association for Corporate Growth Chicago ("ACG Chicago"), a position he has held since 2007; and

 

WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been informed of this special occasion by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Prior to his work with ACG Chicago Craig A. Miller completed a successful career supporting Chicago corporate finance. He served as the Managing Director at Valuemetrics Advisors, Inc. and a Principal at Valuemetrics Capital, LLC, where he advised companies on structuring and executing corporate growth investments, debt placements, management buyouts and employee ownership plans. Craig A. Miller was also a principal with Oak Ridge Capital, which provided merchant banking and strategic advisory services to growing Midwest firms; and

WHEREAS, ACG Chicago has served as the premier network of experts and professionals focused on strategies for corporate and economic expansion in the City of Chicago and the Midwest. ACG Chicago's nearly 1,000 members include professionals and leaders in matters of law, accounting, commercial and investment banking, private equity, corporate consulting and other fields in a diverse and committed Chicago network of corporate executives and professionals whose work promotes City and regional corporate growth, and economic development; and

WHEREAS, ACG Chicago has promoted the City of Chicago to the 90,000 investors, executives, lenders and advisors who are members of the network of 61 Association for Corporate Growth chapters nationally and internationally; and

WHEREAS, Under Craig A. Miller's leadership, ACG Chicago has substantially expanded its conferences, deal-making forums, and educational events that have enabled thousands of professionals and executives to facilitate corporate transactions and promote economic growth; and

WHEREAS, Craig A. Miller has further provided leadership and training to the business community through lectures on capital structure and financing, buyouts, and company valuation, including presentations for the Entrepreneurship Institute, the National Center for Employee Ownership, and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management; and

WHEREAS, Craig A. Miller has contributed to the Chicago area business community as a Member of the Advisory Council on Agriculture, Small Business and Labor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; and

 

WHEREAS, Craig A. Miller has promoted diversity and inclusion in ACG Chicago's membership and board leadership, helping to develop and support the ACG Chicago Women's Network, the NextGen Network of young professionals, and ACG Chicago's outreach to the minority business community; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council

 

 

do hereby thank Craig A. Miller for promoting and advancing the economic interests of the Cily and the region, and congratulate him for his achievements as Chief Executive Officer of ACG Chicago.
