WHEREAS, God in His Infinite wisdom has called Mildred "Millie" McDermott (nee Krolo) to her eternal reward; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman ofthe 11th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Millie McDermott beloved wife ofthe late Edward; loving mother of Janet (Kevin) Rath, Linda (Vincent) DiGiacomo, and the late Michael McDermott; fond Nana of Matt Orton, and Katie Mazziotti; dear siser ofthe late Peter Cosme, Genevieve Osowski, Mary Fahey, Dominic Krolo, and Goldie Murray; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; dear friend of many; and

 

WHEREAS, Millie McDermott was the proverbial "church lady"; she sang on the choir, and was a daily attendant at the 8:30 chapel mass and a regular at 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mass; a loyal parishioner for over 50 years at Nativity of Our Lord Church; and

 

WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Millie McDermott to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this 27th day of June 2018, hereby express our sorrow on the death of Mildred "Millie" McDermott and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy be presented to the family of Mille McDermott.
