WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom and judgement, has called to His heavenly home, Alo Wade, a beloved citizen, faithful man of God and 8th Ward resident; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been notified of his passing by the Honorable Michelle Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on November 12, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, Alo Wade was the adored son of (the late) Annie and Ed Wade and the second of seven siblings. Alo attended Dunbar High School and graduated with honors before he advanced to Kennedy College. Shortly after, he attended Chicago State University to obtain his master's degree; and
WHEREAS, On July 13, 1960, Alo married the love of his life, Gerorgiana Reese. The couple celebrated fifty-eight lovely years together and were blessed with four beautiful children; and
WHEREAS, Alo served his country admirably in the United States Air Force. He also participated as a member of King Davis #100 Lodge 32 degrees past Master for over fifty years, a unified fraternity of men practicing freemasonry and who believe in the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of mankind; and
WHEREAS, Later in life, Alo found success in his career as a New York Life Insurance salesman before becoming a Precinct Captain of the 8th Ward. He also worked as a union steward laborer and retired as a Supervisor of the Cook County Forest Preserve; and
WHEREAS, Alo leaves to cherish his memory his loving devoted wife, Georginiana; four sons, Derrick, Raymond, Roy and Dante; three grandchildren, Theresa, Natasha and Chris; nine great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; one goddaughter, Carrie Cole; and a host of extended family and treasured friends; and
WHEREAS, He was a lighthearted man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as music, dancing and dressing up. Alo touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and vivaciou...
