ORDINANCE

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

 

SECTION 1. Chapter 2-160 ofthe Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by adding a new Section 2-160-075, underscored as follows:

 

2-160-075 Priority parking signs.

(a) Definitions. As used in this section:

"Garage," "operator," and "parking lot" have the same meanings as ascribed to those terms in Section 4-236-010.

 

"Military status" and "parental status" have the same meanings as ascribed to those terms in this Chapter.

 

"Pregnancy" has the same meaning as ascribed to that term in 775 ILCS 5/1-

103.

 

(b) It shall not be a violation of this chapter, and shall not constitute a discriminatory activity, for an owner or operator of a parking lot or garage to create, place, and maintain signage indicating priority parking for individuals based upon military status, parental status, or pregnancy.

 

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and publication.
