CONGRA TULA TIONS EXTENDED TO PA TTI SCUDIERO ON HER RETIREMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND

DEVELOPMENT.

WHEREAS, Patti Scudiero, one of the City's most respected employees, is retiring from the Department of Planning and Development on June 30, 2018, following more than thirty years of dedicated public service; and

WHEREAS, A lifelong Chicagoan and native Northwest Sider, Patti is the beloved daughter of Lucille and the late Vincent Scudiero. A graduate of Mother Theodore Guerin High School and Mundelein College, Patti's career in city government began in 1984 when Patti served as the assistant to Alderman William J.P. Banks, Chairman of the City Council Zoning Committee; and

WHEREAS, For the past three decades, Patti has worn many hats, from serving as the city's first female Zoning Administrator to Managing Deputy Commissioner, Bureau of Planning and Zoning, and as an ex-ofilcio member of the Chicago Plan Commission. In each role, Patti has proven herself to be a dedicated and faithful employee who has contributed greatly to the efficiency of Chicago city government; and

WHEREAS, While Patti's presence will certainly be missed, her impact on the city's landscape will be felt for years to come. Among the projects she worked on include the Obama Presidential Center, Wrigley Field expansion, Wilson Yard, Edens Collection, and South Loop redevelopment. Each project that passed by her desk benefited greatly from her ideas and contributions; and

WHEREAS, As a valued leader, her hard work and diligence serve as an inspiration to us all. Patti has earned the respect not only of her colleagues and those working under her direction, but also from members of the City Council; and

WHEREAS, Although Patti will be sorely missed by her friends and colleagues in the Department of Planning and Development, retirement will give her more time to devote to her family, friends, travel, golf, and her beloved Cubs; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty seventh day of June, 2018, do hereby honor and express our deepest appreciation for the vast accomplishments and dedicated service of Patti Scudiero as she retires from city government service and we extend to her our very best wishes for continued happiness; and
