Honorary Resolution for Elmore Greer

WHEREAS, It is with great excitement that the members of this Chamber learn of the 100 birthday of Elmore Greer; and

WHEREAS, This esteemed body learned of this incredible milestone from the Honorable Susan Sadlowski Garza, Alderman ofthe 10^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Elmore was born on June 21, 1918, in Marvel, Arkansas. She eventually moved to Chicago, Illinois, in 1952; and

WHEREAS, Elmore's family has grown exponentially. She has one daughter, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and over forty great-great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Elmore is known for her love of cooking for her large family and her gift of singing for the Lord. She has a kind, giving and generous spirit that does not go unnoticed by family, friends or neighbors; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-third day of May, 2018, do hereby express our excitement and pride in the life of Elmore Greer.
