RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Cardinal Blase Cupich has ordained The Most Reverend Ronald Hicks as an Auxiliary Bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Raised in South Holland, the Most Reverend Ronald Hicks was born to Ron and Roselee; and
WHEREAS, The Most Reverend Ronald Hicks graduated from Niles College and St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary and was ordained in 1991; and
WHEREAS, The Most Reverend Ronald Hicks was Associate Pastor at Our Lady of Mercy and St. Elizabeth Seton in Orland Hills, Dean of Formation at St. Joseph College Seminary, Central American Regional Director for Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos in El Salvador and Dean of Formation for Mundelein Seminary; and
WHEREAS, The Most Reverend Ronald Hicks' love of Latino culture and his care of youth will be assets as he continues as Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, The Most Reverend Ronald Hicks has chosen the greeting attributed to St. Francis of Assisi as his motto: "Peace and all good"; and
WHEREAS, The faithfulness, sacrifice and dedication of The Most Reverend Ronald Hicks serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirty-first day of October, 2018, do hereby congratulate the Most Reverend Ronald Hicks on his ordination as Auxiliary Bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago; and
