RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Serafin & Associates, Inc., an iconic Chicago firm specializing in communication and public affairs strategies, is celebrating 30 years in business; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this anniversary by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Serafin & Associates, Inc., employs a seasoned team with a host of unique skill sets that have been honed in newsrooms and government administrations, digital hubs and C-suites; and
WHEREAS, For three decades, Serafin & Associates, Inc., has managed reputations and crafted messages for clients and engaged in crisis management; and
WHEREAS, Serafin & Associates, Inc., was founded by Thorn Serafin whose expertise comes from years of hands-on experience, first as a network radio correspondent covering the Illinois State Capital, and later in the role of press secretary for several United States Senate campaigns and even a presidential campaign; and
WHEREAS, Thorn Serafin served on the staffs of Senator Alan Dixon and U.S.Representative Dan Rostenkowski in Chicago and Washington, D.C., and has advised some of the highest-profile policy makers in Illinois and the nation; and
WHEREAS, Thorn Serafin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master's in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois/Springfield (UIS) where, as an undergraduate, he helped launch the prestigious Public Affairs Reporting (PAR) program with then-professor Paul Simon; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of his many accomplishments, Thorn Serafin was named to the Cram's Chicago Business 2015 "20 Most Powerful Political Insiders" list; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Thorn Serafin serve as an example to all; now, therefore
